System Settings
Tap the gear icon ⚙ in the top-right corner of the dashboard to open the Settings bottom sheet. It is divided into four sections: WiFi, Device (System Config & Clock), Data, and Danger Zone.
WiFi Settings
The WiFi card shows your currently connected network (green dot + SSID + IP address). Use the fields below to join a different network.
How to Change WiFi Network
- Enter the new SSID in the "New SSID" field.
- Enter the WiFi password in the Password field.
- Tap Save & Restart. The device will reboot and connect to the new network.
- Reconnect your phone/PC to the same WiFi, then navigate to the new IP address shown on the device's serial output.
System Config
The System Config card sets the hardware limits of your installation. These values tell the firmware how many zones, scanner systems, and simultaneous activations are allowed.

| Systems | 1 – 8 | Number of IO Scanner / relay boards connected (each board counts as one system) |
| Max Concurrent Zones | 1 – 16 | How many zones may run simultaneously. Set to 1 to prevent any overlap (recommended for single-pump systems) |
Press Save Config to apply. The device does not reboot — changes take effect at the next schedule trigger.
Clock & NTP
IrrigEngine uses an NTP server to synchronise its clock automatically over
the internet. The default server is pool.ntp.org. You can change this to a
local NTP server on your LAN if needed.

| NTP Server | Hostname or IP of the time server. Default: pool.ntp.org. Change to a local server for offline networks. |
| Manual Time | Tap the "▶ Manual Time" link to expand a form and set the date/time directly, without NTP (useful during commissioning without internet access). |
Press Save Clock Config to apply.
Backup & Restore
The Backup / Restore section lets you export and import the complete device configuration as a JSON file. This includes all zone names, schedules, outputs, sensors, conditions, WiFi credentials, and system settings.
Download a Backup
- Open Settings ⚙ and scroll to the DATA section.
- Tap ↓ Download Backup. Your browser will save a JSON file to your downloads folder.
- Keep the file in a safe place — it can restore the device to this exact state at any time.
Restore from a Backup
- Tap ↑ Restore from File.
- Select a previously downloaded backup JSON file from your device.
- Confirm the restore. The device will apply the configuration and restart.
Factory Reset
How to Perform a Factory Reset
- Download a backup first (see Backup & Restore) if you may want to restore your settings later.
- Open Settings ⚙ and scroll to the DANGER ZONE section at the bottom.
- Tap 🗑 Factory Reset. A confirmation prompt will appear.
- Confirm the action. The device resets all settings to factory defaults and restarts in AP (access point) mode.
- Connect to the IrrigEngine WiFi access point and re-configure WiFi and zones from scratch (or restore from a backup).
